The Boat Recalls Applied On 8/2/2006 And Was Closed On 10/26/2006 With The Following Comment: The Inboard Engine Compartment Natural Ventilation System Exhaust Openings Were Not Of Sufficient Size. With A Net Compartment Volume Of 96 Cu. Ft., The Natural Ventilation System Supply And Exhaust Open Area Must Be At Least 14.8 Sq. In. Each. Three Inch Exhaust Ducts Were Installed On The Port And Starboard Sides, Which Would Give An Aggregate Area Of 14.2 Sq. In., But The Decorative Grills On The Exhaust Openings Reduced The Open Area To A Total Of Only 8.0 Sq. In. The Natural Supply Ventilation Was Satisfactory. The Boat Recalls Applied On 8/2/2006 And Was Closed On 10/26/2006 With The Following Comment: The Inspected Boat Has A Metallic Fuel Tank Encased With Cellular Plastic. The Boat Manufacturer Did Not Have Documentation To Demonstrate The Cellular Plastic Complied With 33cfr183.516 This Is Repeat Non Compliance Item Identified On Another Boat Model During Visit July 20, 2005. The Engine Compartment Natural Exhuast Ventilation In Insufficient Size For The Compartment Net Volume. The Gas Engine Compartment Has A Net Volume Of Approx. 122 Cu Ft, Which Req's At Least 16 Sq. In. Of Aggregate Cross-sectional Area For The Natural Exhaust Vent Ducting. One 3-inch Duct Was Installed On The Port Side And One 3-inch Duct Was Installed On The Starboard Side, Which Provided For An Aggregate Opening Of 14.2 Sq. In. Additionally, The Decorative Grills Installed At The Exhaust Openings Reduce The Aggregate Cross-sectional Area From 14.2 To Approx. 8 Sq. In. The Natural Supply Vent Satisfactory. The Current Carrying Conductor Between The Battery And The Blige Pump Did Not Have A Manually Reset, Trip-free Circuit Breaker Or Fuse Installed Within 7 Inches From The Batter Or Anywhere Along The Length Of The Conductor. Mnf Has Not Been Conducting The Fuel System Pressure Test. The Ungrounded Supply Conductor From The Battery Switch To The Main Distribution Panel At The Control Station Was Approx. 10 Ft. In Length, With No Manually Reset, Trip-free Circuit Breaker Or Fuse Installed. There Were No Ignition-protected Markings Or Docs Available To Show The The Two Light Switches Installed In The Engine Compartment Were Ignition Protected. These Combination Light/switch Fixtures Were Marked For Recreational Vehicle Use. 10/25/06 Mnf Submitted Documentation (dnr And Cur) Indicating Parts And Instructions Have Been Sent To All Purchasers.
